Spending on fuel poverty slashed as energy bills rocket

On the day that the Government's latest fuel poverty figures are published, a shocking new report from the Association for the Conservation of Energy has shown that funding to help fuel poor households is being slashed by almost a third. To make matters worse, national spending on making homes more energy efficient - the only permanent way to bring down energy bills and end fuel poverty - will have been cut by over 50% over the 3 year period to 2013. Climate Jobs Caravan starts its travels

The Climate Jobs Caravan is being organised by the Million Climate Jobs Campaign. Two vehicles will take part in a 2,500 mile trip that will take the arguments for Climate Jobs to towns and cities up and down the country. There will be a range of public meetings and associated activities that are taking place along the route. London, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Cardiff are among the first stops.
